Conectores en ingles

Cuando estamos redactando un trabajo, una carta o un ensayo, siempre queremos que todo sea lo más perfecto y entendible posible. Eso incluye, claro está, evitar lo más que podamos las redundancias y las formas no tan estéticas de escribir. Es por esto que aquí te traemos una lista de conectores en inglés (categorizados por función) que puedes utilizar en tus tareas o escritos.

Conectores de secuencia:

Este tipo de conectores sirven para mantener el orden de las ideas dentro de un párrafo.

First/ First of all: En español se traduciría como “Primero/ Primero que nada”. Suele comenzar a enumerar una lista de ideas.

Ejemplos:  –  First of all, I´d like to give you this little present before we start.

  • First, pour the egg whites and the sugar.
  • First, I will talk to him, then you can go.
  • First of all, I will introduce you to my colleagues.
  • First of all, we must consider our safety.

To begin/ to begin with: En español traducido como “para empezar”.

Ejemplos: – To begin, both sides must consider the facts.

  • To begin with, there is too much information already.
  • To begin, I want to apologize to you for what I did.
  • To begin, who can tell me what we saw last class?
  • To begin with, I´d like to thank you for this special day.

Next: La equivalencia en español sería “Después” o “Siguiente”

Ejemplos:-  First I have my English class, next I have math class.

  • I went to the bar. Next thing I remember, I was drunk.
  • Tomorrow I will go to my sister´s house, next I´ll go to the mall.

Then: Es un conector continuativo y en español se traduce como “luego” o “entonces”.

Ejemplos: – He takes a bath, then he goes to work.

Finally/ At last: Se pueden traducir como “finalmente” o “al final, al fin o por fin” respectivamente.

Conectores de adición:

Este tipo de conectores nos permiten añadir a una oración principal una oración subordinada o coordinada.

And: Este conector es uno de los mas usados tanto en ingles como en español, se traduce como “y”.

Ejemplos: – I have a cat and she has a dog.

  • We´ll go shopping and we´ll have fun.

Also: Este conector se puede traducir como “también”.

Secondly: Este conector se puede traducir como: “segundo” o “en segundo lugar”.

By the way: Este conector es ampliamente utilizado en el inglés y significa: “por otra parte” o “por cierto”.

Ejemplos: –  I don’t like you, by the way.

Conectores de comparación:

Estos conectores nos permiten hablar sobre semejanzas entre ideas o comparar oraciones y frases.

Likewise: Este conector se traduce comúnmente como “asimismo” o “igualmente”.

Ejemplos: – The judicial system likewise needs strengthening.

Simirlaly: En español este conector equivale a “igualmente”, “del mismo modo”.

Estos conectores nos permiten marcar una diferencia entre ideas y oraciones.
